- More than 1,000 canoe paddlers from around the globe are
expected to compete in the 2004 Hawaii Modular Space Molokai Hoe on
Sunday, October 10
th beginning at 7:30am.
The
Hawaii Modular Space Molokai Hoe is a 41-mile open ocean race that
launches from Hale O Lono Harbor on Molokai and ends at Duke Kahanamoku
Beach in Waikiki, Oahu.
This year marks the 53rd
crossing of the Ka 'iwi Channel, which separates the islands of Oahu
and Molokai. The Ka 'iwi Channel has been touted, at times, as one
of the most treacherous spans of ocean in the world.
